3. NHFDC trust fund scholarship for differently-abled students

Scholarship for Physically Handicapped Students Introduced by National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC). The aim of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to disabled students so that they can pursue technical or higher education with dignity. 10 best scholarships for disability students- 2021.

5. NSP merit cum means scholarship for professional and technical courses.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must belong to minority communities (Muslim, Sikhs, Christian, Buddhists, Jain, and Parses).
  • Must be pursuing a professional or technical course at UG/PG level.
  • Differently-abled or physically challenged students with a disability level of more than 40%.
  • Must have scored at least 50% marks on equivalent examination, annual family income not more than 2.50 lacks.

Benefits

  • Course fee of 20,000 per annum.
  • Maintenance allowance of 1000 per month for hosteller and 500 per month for day scholar.

7. National fellowship for students with disabilities

Scholarship for Physically Handicapped Students Also called Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship Program. It aims in encouraging disabled students to pursue higher education like M.Phil. Or Ph.D.

Eligibility

  • Applicant should have secured admission in the M.Phil./Ph.D.
  • He/ she should be affected by at least 40% of disability

Benefits

  • Amount of the fellowship for initial 2 years as JRF- 16,000 rupees
  • Amount of the fellowship for the rest of 3 years as SRF- 18,000
  • Student also get additional allowance of 2000 rupees on the monthly basis. In addition, students also receive ‘contingency grants’ annually.

Application

firstly, Selection is done by the University Grant Commission. The candidates may apply online and when the application is invited by UGC. However, no application is required to be sent to the department of empowerment of a person with disabilities.

8. Free coaching

Eligibility

  • Firstly For students appearing in competitive examinations for jobs in the government/ public sector and admission to technical and professional courses.
  • Secondly, the number of scholarships per year is 2000.
  • Differently-abled or physically challenged students with a disability level of more than 40%.
  • The annual income of parents should be less than 6 lacks.

Benefits

firstly, the Coaching fee shall be payable to the impaneled institution by this department. Stipend and also special allowances for disability of Rs. 7,000 per month for outstation candidates and also Rs. 4,500 for local candidates shall be payable.

The coaching institute may send their proposal in the prescribed application form with the recommendations of concerned state governments/ UTs. After that having a registration certificate under the rights of person with disabilities act, 2016.

9. National overseas scholarships

Eligibility

  • Firstly for students who pursue master’s degrees and doctorate degrees in foreign universities abroad.
  • A total of 20 scholarships are given in a year.
